Cancelling your free AOL account is easy, but you should be sure that you wish to delete it; once it is gone, you will not be able to access any of your old AOL messages.
If you really want to delete your account, you will need your master username, password, and the answer to your security question. If you have forgotten your password or the answer to your security question, you will have to have them reset.
First, sign in to your account using your master username and password. After you have logged in, answer your security question. Select “I need a Dial-Up Connection” or “I already have a High Speed Connection”, then click on the button labeled “View Plans” if you are prompted. Click “Cancel” at the bottom of the screen. Finally, if you are absolutely sure that you wish to cancel your free AOL account, select a reason from the drop-down menu, then click the button labeled “Cancel” to cancel your account.
